We love our Pathways’ Community! Meet Megan, a participant in our Chilliwack Pathways program. Megan does some amazing volunteer work in her neighborhood, which is a great way to give back to the community. Read our previous blog on the benefits of volunteering here.We recently sat down with Megan to chat about her experiences at Pathways and in the Chilliwack community. Here is what she shared with us!
Megan loves her community in Chilliwack because she can walk so many places without having to drive there. It’s a great chance to exercise, she says. We agree – especially as the weather starts warming up, why drive in a car when you can stroll outside taking in all the great outdoors has to offer and exercise at the same time.
Megan’s favourite thing to do at Pathways is delivering papers and working at the local arts community by cleaning the Guild Hall. Megan also volunteers her time at the Red Cross. “I answer phones, empty bins of equipment, putting the equipment back on the shelves, help clients and make coffee for the other volunteers,” she said.
We at Pathways love supporting Megan, to help her reach her goals! In fact, when asked about her friends at Pathways, Megan replied, “I have so many friends at [Pathways] that I don’t even know where to start!”
We hope Megan has inspired you to give back to your community in whatever way you can! She certainly inspires us.
