How It Works

The Crown Agency, Community Living BC (CLBC), is mandated under the Community Living Authority Act to deliver supports and services to adults with intellectual disabilities and their families through a network of contracted service providers, like Pathways.

The Process

CLBC determines eligibility for services and funding and proposes the services available
Families inform CLBC of their choice of service provider if they have pre-selected Pathways, or CLBC can provide a short list of eligible services for the individual
CLBC negotiates with Pathways to provide the maximum services within the resources available
A contract is agreed upon between CLBC and Pathways
Detailed planning and services begin with Pathways for the individual and family
